Kaspersky Security Centre 10 - Web Control Problem

Hi All. I am in the process of rolling out Security Endpoint Protection 10 to all our PCs & Laptops. We have a strict web blocking Policy and social media is blocked. I have noticed there is no entry for Social Media in the Web Categories so I have created a block rule for FB & Twitter.  See below. However when i apply this rule & sync it out to my test PC, the sites are still accessible. The sites I have blocked by category are fine and are all blocked.

Does anybody have any ideas on what i might be doing wrong?

Need help about system watcher and Local update task

i have some queries please help me to solve it

1) No restart prompt is received on the computer when Kaspersky is installed.

2) Local update task automatically runs and gives error unless the computer is restarted. 

3) System watcher service does not runs unless the computer is restarted(no restart prompt is received).

Kaspersky SC 10 Removing Tasks

I have some automatic installation tasks that  want to remove from KSC 10 task list however I am unable to delete them. Error is: Failed to remove task "Automatic Installation".


I am able to remove other tasks without an issue. The task is not running  and i have tried deleting it from the main source and where it is inherited.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Kaspersky install on Hyper V 2012 R2 Host

I rolled out KES 10 to 9 of our Hyper-V virtual hosts today. I used a bare minimum configuration that only consisted of virus scanner. I also created a policy to exclude Cluster Volume folder.

After Kaspersky finished installing, 2 of the hosts had an unexpected shutdown. There is nothing in the event log to indicate what may have cause the issue.

After the host came back on line, the VMs were unable to start. The error was that they were unable to recover from a saved state.

I tried various things to bring the VMs back to life but eventually i had to remove Kaspersky and I was able to restart the VM's.

Does anybody have any ideas what may have gone wrong. The other 7 hosts are fine however I have now removed Kaspersky as a matter of caution.

Kaspersky and TAR files

We are running KSC10 & KES on the servers/desktops.

We are testing our systems for security and we have found that Kaspersky is not scanning inside TAR archives.

Has anybody seen this before and maybe can offer some help?

Kaspersky Network Agent Question

I have a question for the Kaspersky users here. I was trying to trouble shoot an error a user is having (she is showing to not have the network agent installed on the Security Center, but when trying to install it shows an older version is installed).

My question is, is there a way to check what patch a specific workstation is running. It shows v 10.2.xxx but doesn't show which patch she is on.

Network Agent on more computers than KES licenses

Hi everybody who wants to help me.

I am an admin in company of 400+ PCs. I use Kaspersky Security Center with 300 licenses for Kaspersky Endpoint Security. And I would like to have the Network Agent installed on all computers (300 PCs with NA and KES and 100+ PCs with NA only). Is it possible to have it this way? OR Is the number of NA installations limited by number of licenses?

Kaspersky endpoint blocking application in trusted zone

Hi 

I have an IM application installed for internal company use witch is pidgin.
The app works ok on all computers (+/- 100) except 4 of them.

After some testing i realised that the only way for the app to connect to the server was to disable kaspersky on the client computer.

The policy i she same for all machines, all machines have the same version installed and are in the same group.
I added the application to the trusted zone and it´s in the trusted group.
I tried disabling all the ptotection types 1 by 1 to see witch one was blocking the app, no luck. The only way to get it to work is to disable the antivirus. 

Anyone with experience in kav endpoint?

Has anyone updated their installs yet, and if so any feedback?

Kaspersky and disc usage

Our IT consultant recently rolled out a new security software. We have since had complaints from issues with painfully slow PC's. Task manager states Disc usage is at 100% for all users affected and after removing Kaspersky the usage returns to normal. There are some with it installed and have had no issues, myself included. 

Any ideas regarding the cause/reason for poor performance with Kaspersky?

KSC10 and connection gateway in DMZ?

Has anyone got a connection gateway in the DMZ working for remote laptops?.

We have setup a server in our DMZ that can talk to our KSC server without issues.

I have added it as a update agent and enabled it as a connection gateway and enabled the option to initiate connection to gateway from administration server (if gateway is inside a DMZ). We have 13000,14000,15000 udp/tcp opened up to the server in the DMZ and tried to use the klmover application to switch a laptop over to the external ip address. The ports are opened/listening according to netstat and we can see traffic passing and not getting blocked by firewall but on the remote laptop we are seeing "Transport level error while connecting to http://externalip:13000: general error 0x4EC."

Kaspersky Endpoint security

hello everyone

i'm using kaspersky security center in my organization ,and install endpoint security on clients but when kaspersky scan every system it gets all of disk and you can see disk 100% full by kaspersky in the Task manager .
and Clients cannot do anything at all.

does any one have a solution for this ?

Unable To Remove KES 11 Using The Management Server

I am hoping that someone can shed some light on this as there is very little helpful information on Kaspersky's website (a main reason why we stopped using KES). We are switching from KES to Webroot and I have to remove the software from 150 workstations. The issue is that I tried to make a task on the management server to do this but it only allowed me to uninstall the Network agent, not KES itself. So, stupidly, I installed the Network agent from most computers. Now I have a situation where I have workstations with KES installed but no way to remove it silently or unattended. There are some KB articles on their website but none reference KES 11 specifically and none of them actually worked. Due to complications with KES and it's terrible management console, I had to install the software using the exe on every machine during...

Upgrade Existing KSC or Setup New KSC SP2 server?

Background:

Currently running KSC 10.3.407 on WinSRV 2008R2. 

I have around 150 desktops running KES 10.2.5.3201. 

I have 6 ESX server running version 3.0.0.92 VDI (can't remember the correct terminology?) and around 50 virtual servers with KSWS 10.0.0.486

I want to upgrade (replace) my server with WinSRV 2012R2 and upgrade to the new KSC SP2 (10.4.343) and KES 10.3.0.6294.

What's my best (easiest, fastest, etc) game plan? 

Should I do an in place upgrade of KES to the SP2 version or just build a new Windows Server and install the new KSC SP2?  Would I just set it up as a new "Administration Server" and migrate devices, policies and tasks over?

Embedded OS support issue with KAS 10 SP2

As anyone seen a statement about Kaspersky dropping embedded OS support from Kaspersky 10 SP2?

Testing our KAS 10 SP2 clean install and the setup process gives a message saying embedded OSs are not supported.

If support has been removed I'm hoping this is a push to another product in their protection family. Endpoint Security still gets referenced in the embedded section of the Kaspersky site. https://usa.kaspersky.com/enterprise-security/embedded-systems

Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 (KES10) blocks Webex

All computers in this office run under the same KES10 policy. However, some computers can access Webex sessions just fine, but some "hang" when trying to establish a a session. On the latter ones, once KES10 is paused, webex session do work; once KES10 is re-enabled, webex stops loading again. The KES10 policy doesn't block any websites at all. There was a suggestion from Webex tech support to open certain ports on the firewall, but it doesn't make sense to me since all computers, the ones loading sessions with KES10 enabled and those that don't, run under the same policy. If you have dealt with this issue before and have a clue on how to fix this, your post would be appreciated. Thanks.
